We Are Royal is a member-driven Harry Potter roleplay that strives to create an environment rich in character development and community without a restricting plot or binding expectations. While War identifies as a Harry Potter roleplay it is so much more than that, offering a unique experience in the Wizarding World we've all come to know and love. Though canon is acknowledged up to the Battle at Hogwarts not a single canon from the books are currently present, we've simply removed all traces of them in order to provide room for original characters and original canon. You are the main character of your story.
➏ site event: reopening
My overtime should be ending soon and War may return. Keep an eye out. Join the thread in 'Daily Prophet' to talk until the cbox returns, if you'd like. See you soon, Warriors! - Tany

Mary knew hanging around in knockturn alley was going to cause her problems. She had, after all, just gotten out of Azkaban not long ago. For a pretty heinous crime that they had found her guilty of. And they should have because she was guilty. Not that she had been allowed to say as much. Then again, all through her trial, she hadn't said much of anything. Now? Now she was a woman of few words. Azkaban was not a summer camp. Her father had been furious and had thankfully, finally gotten her out. Self defense shouldn't have been a reason to be imprisoned and apparently someone, somewhere, had agreed.

Now that she was out, she was fully intending to go back to her old job of artifact hunting. Treasure hunting. Whatever you wanted to call it. She loved doing it and it kept her mind and self busy. Otherwise she was reliving that night. Having been stuck with Dementors, it had been like living in a constant repeat.

Treasure hunting was technically legal but the trading and selling of wrongfully obtained goods was not. But the Garcia family had never cared much about the law and what was right or wrong. Mary was not excluded from that. Which was why she was hanging around in knockturn alley, blocks from the family pawn shop. She had her bag with her, charmed to hold many, many items and feel very light. Ontop of that, if anyone but her opened it, it looked like a normal purse with makeup. The dark haired girl was fairly good with charms and hexes. She could have easily used her talents for good but a Garcia never turned their back on the family or its business. Which was why she was wandering the street like a prostitute.

As he walked out of the tattoo parlor, Sterling rubbed idly at a spot on his right hip under his jacket but over his shirt and jeans where his newest tattoo had just been completed. He had quite a few scattered about his body, all runes used to amplify his constant glamours with little effort. He wasn't naive; he knew full well that in Knockturn Alley, there was always a possibility that he would need all of the magic he had at his disposal.

Still, that didn't mean that his newest rune tattoo didn't smart quite a bit. Maybe it was because it was right over his hip bone, but the process of walking down the street to his shop made it burn more than the others, even over the bandage that had been plastered on by the tattoo artist.

His hand continued to rub at his hip, probably looking pretty suggestive to the passerby but in what was actually a completely innocent manner as he approached the entrance to his shop. He could almost see it from where he was, and his mind was solely on the bed in the loft above his shop. He'd whip up an ointment to ease the pain (because there was no way he trusted the people at the tattoo parlor to procure something suitable for him) and then he'd pass out until morning.

At least, that was Sterling's plan, up until he saw a girl who looked like a prostitute in his way. He could easily walk around the girl and continue along on his way, but he didn't want riff-raff like that within a few blocks of his store. His business was mostly legitimate (taking advantage of people's fears and insecurities wasn't against the law), but some of his ingredients could be considered questionable. He didn't want any authority figures to come sniffing around anywhere near his shop, so he strode up to the girl and viciously spat out, "I don't care what you're selling, but nobody in this area's buying. So scram."
