We Are Royal is a member-driven Harry Potter roleplay that strives to create an environment rich in character development and community without a restricting plot or binding expectations. While War identifies as a Harry Potter roleplay it is so much more than that, offering a unique experience in the Wizarding World we've all come to know and love. Though canon is acknowledged up to the Battle at Hogwarts not a single canon from the books are currently present, we've simply removed all traces of them in order to provide room for original characters and original canon. You are the main character of your story.
➏ site event: reopening
My overtime should be ending soon and War may return. Keep an eye out. Join the thread in 'Daily Prophet' to talk until the cbox returns, if you'd like. See you soon, Warriors! - Tany

Tucker had his arms crossed over his chest, scowling at the potential new housemates that were near him. He didn't know any of the other first years. No, he had been burdened with a train ride to Hogwarts with one of his many siblings constantly by his side. It didn't exactly create the opportunity to get on his own and make friends - an opportunity that he'd been dying for, thank you very much.

And by the time they got to the boats, all of the first years had already seemed to be grouped up. For all his bluster, he wasn't going to just go up to somebody and pretend they were cool with each other. He'd rather others approach him, but that didn't happen because it seemed like everyone had made their stupid little cliques while Tucker had been forced to spend time with the Roosevelt clan.

Hence the scowling and generally unapproachable appearance he had going on while he waited to be called. His expression was a very good impression of someone bored and collected, The wings he refused to glamour away betrayed his true feelings, twitching nervously despite Tucker's best efforts to contain their movements.

It seemed like forever before his name was called. Of course, that was to be expected. Whether they went by first name or last, he was clearly at the end of the alphabet. Haughtily, he marched past the remaining first years that had yet to be sorted and plopped down on the stool as someone dropped the hat on his head, covering his eyes from the view of the Great Hall.

"Another Roosevelt?" he heard asked inside his head. At least, he was pretty sure the voice was talking just to him and not the entire Great Hall. Last one. And best one. he thought in response. It might be arrogant, but he was determined to be the best out of his siblings. He didn't know what that meant yet, but he knew it was going to happen. "Ambitious, then. How very Slytherin of you," the voice muttered. "But I see how important the family is to you. The loyalty you have. Hmm."

Tuck didn't think it really mattered what house he was in, but he didn't really want to have to listen to Kellen with his stupid prefect's badge. He'd do whatever it took to separate himself from the other Roosevelts. "So very like a Hufflepuff, but that's not where you want to be. You're a brave one, wanting to go off on your own like that, to forge your own path. And I can see how creative you are with your plans to distinguish yourself from them. You are a tough one," the hat continued to muse.

Honestly, Tucker was smart enough to not be surprised by how 'tough' he supposedly was. With eight older siblings, he was always pulled in different directions. He was pretty sure that he had taken on the best of all of them, which made him an interesting mix. The other eight had been placed in different houses, but he was special. He would prove he was special. Somehow. Someway. "You war with yourself, but the ambition keeps coming back. Ambition to be different, to set yourself apart, to rise above your siblings. Best be SLYTHERIN," the hat said, shouting the last word to the rest of the Great Hall after what seemed like ages.

The children at a table off to the side started clapping, indicating that was the Slytherin table he was to join. Tuck kept his head down as he made his way to an open seat at his new table, avoiding meeting the gaze of any of his siblings. He felt like all eyes were on him, and it was sometime after that he learned he was sitting there long enough to be considered a hatstall. Already, he was being different. Kudos to him.
